Description: Purchase and re-development of an existing warehouse into 200,000 square foot of premium film studios. Acquired in 1997 by the Rose Corporation, the site is located just outside Downtown Toronto in the city’s Leslieville neighbourhood. Toronto Film Studios (TFS) was an important part of the Canadian film industry infrastructure that helped fuel its dramatic growth. The studio was also a forerunner to Rose’s development of nearby Pinewood Studio. Once recognized as the largest film studio in Canada, TFS has been home to many blockbuster films including Cinderella Man, Goodwill Hunting and The Incredible Hulk. Sold in part in 2007 to SmartCentres and then fully in 2012 TFS, now operating under the name “Revival 629”, continues to be one of Toronto’s most successful film studies and facilitates major productions every year.
