Newmarket’s first new condominium development in a generation is coming, and details continue to emerge about The Davis – Residences at Bakerfield, a new project from developer The Rose Corporation and builder LCL Builds Corporation. The first phase 15-storey building is designed by RAW with the interiors by Patton Design Studio.
Phase 1 of The Davis – Residences at Bakerfield offers 219 suites from 550 ft² to 1,150 ft² in area, and priced ranging from the $400,000s to the $600,000s. This will be the first of three towers coming to the 4.4-acre master-planned community, set to contain 500 units above a landscaped courtyard and a new 20,000 ft² urban park featuring a children’s playground.
With the project’s grand opening in the books, construction crews have mobilized to begin demolition on site, clearing the existing footprint to make way for the new residential density. Images provided by the developer show an existing three-storey structure being taken down by a single construction vehicle, clearing the way for the project’s upcoming shoring and excavation.

The new community will put its residents in the heart of an emerging area in Newmarket with increasingly walkable streets and urban retail. Serviced by a YRT bus rapid transit line and steps from the Newmarket GO station, the project will attract urban commuters, while the nearby Highways 404 and 400 will connect residents with the surrounding region.
